Clara launches an open call for guest editors for its upcoming issues, starting with issue 12 (to be published in 2026).

The role of guest editors is to prepare Clara’s thematic section which consists of six to nine articles developing a specific and original topic in the field of architecture. Guest editors write a call for papers, select the abstracts and follow the peer review and editorial processes together with Clara’s editorial board. Guest editors are responsible for the thematic section’s overall consistency and for the quality of each contribution and contribute an introduction to the issue. The section can be edited by a single guest editor as well as a team of maximum three co-editors.

Proposals from guest editor(s) are welcome at any time, and can be sent directly to Clara’s editorial board: clara.archi[at]ulb.be. They should be compiled in one single pdf (in English or French), including:

  • A theme: title and short argument for your proposal (300-500 words).
  • Guest editor(s): name, short resume (100 words), affiliation, list of 5 main publications.

The evaluation of the proposals will be carried out by Clara’s editorial board. The criteria are the originality and relevance of the proposals to the field of architecture and to Clara’s editorial priorities for the upcoming issues.

You can read and download the full call here.

This is an open call, i.e. propositions are welcome at any time. However, guest editors who wish to be considered for issue 12 (to be published in 2026) are requested to submit their proposal before June 30, 2024. Submissions received after that date will be considered for later issues (2027 on).
