Abstract
The architect Lucien-Jacques Baucher (1929 - ) talks to two architecture students in January 2014. He recalls his years of training at ENSAAD - École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture et des Arts Décoratifs de La Cambre, his association with Odette Filippone and Jean-Pierre Blondel, the turning point of Expo 58 in Brussels, and then his own career, and of course some of the projects that marked the milestones of his career: the Marie Thumas pavilion at Expo 58, the hanging gardens of the Résidence Vincennes building, the 'Val du Roi' building. This exchange becomes the occasion for Baucher to express himself on the dominant inflluence of Le Corbusier, but also of the Brazilian and Scandinavian modernist architects, on the role of reviews such as Architecture d'Aujourd'hui, on his involvement in the review Rythme, and the professional associations such as the SCAB and the SBUAM.
